On August 14, Consul General Wang Zhijian was invited to the Prince of Songkla University and delivered a keynote speech entitled “Facing History and Safeguarding the Post-War International Order”. More than 100 participants attended the event, including Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs of the Prince of Songkla University, teachers and students from the Chinese Language Department of the University, Chinese students studying in Thailand, and representatives from several secondary schools in southern Thailand.

Wang pointed out that the current international situation is complex and volatile, with unilateralism and protectionism on the rise and the global governance system facing severe challenges. Multilateralism, he noted, is the only path to addressing global issues, and vigilance needs to be maintained against hegemonism and power politics pursued by certain countries. He emphasized that China remains firmly committed to upholding the United Nations centered international system, to following the path of peaceful development, and to working with other nations to jointly promote the building of the community with a shared future for mankind.

Wang also engaged in interactive exchanges on the Taiwan question and China–Japan relations, referencing important historical documents such as the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation. The speech was punctuated by multiple rounds of warm applause from the audience.
