Consul General Wang Zhijian Attends Opening Ceremony of the 4th ASEAN-China Students Educational Exchange Conference at Phuket Thaihua Asean Wittaya School

On August 18, Consul General Wang Zhijian attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th ASEAN-China Students Educational Exchange Conference held at Phuket Thaihua Asean Wittaya School. Deputy Governor of Phuket Mr. Samawit Suphanphai, Chairman of Kusonsongkhroh Foundation Mr. Sombhat Adisek, as well as hundreds of teachers and student representatives from China and ASEAN countries participated. Counselor Li Chenglong, Director of the Phuket Consular Office, was present at the event.

In his speech, Consul General Wang reviewed the history of China-Thailand friendship and pragmatic bilateral cooperation in various fields. He emphasized that educational exchanges have always been one of the most dynamic and fruitful areas in China-Thailand relations, serving as a vivid reflection of China-ASEAN practical cooperation and mutual trust as well as an important driving force for the common prosperity and development of China and ASEAN. Wang commended Phuket Thaihua ASEAN School, one of the oldest Chinese language schools in southern Thailand, for actively integrating with ASEAN, advancing internationalization of the school, and contributing valuable experience to the development of Chinese language education.

On the same day, Consul General Wang and the guests also visited a photo exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Thailand diplomatic relations and watched a wonderful cultural performance prepared by Phuket Thaihua ASEAN School and centered on the same theme. The students’ performances,  including songs, dances, recitations, martial arts, and dragon dances, received continuous applause from the audience. The performance reached its climax with classic tunes like "Jasmine Flower" and "Butterfly Lovers" adapted and performed by the student orchestra.
