On August 28, Consul General Wang Zhijian attended the exhibition for the Southern Thailand Quality Fruit Export Confidence Building Project. Also present at the event were Phuwadol, Director of Department of Agricultural Extension,  Southern Thailand, and representatives from agricultural departments of relevant border provinces of Thailand.

Consul General Wang listened to introductions of practical measures for quality control of durians in southern Thailand. He noted that China has a vast market and welcomes more high-quality Thai durians to be exported to China. He expressed willingness to enhance collaborative efforts in areas relating to pest and disease control, agricultural machinery and management, and to explore opportunities for joint scientific and technological projects to provide agricultural assistance and ensure that the fruits of such cooperation benefit thousands of households in southern Thailand.

Consul General Wang Wang planted a durian sapling symbolizing Sino-Thai friendship in a durian orchard, tasted fresh durians and various durian-inspired dishes, and engaged in warm conversations with each exhibitor.
