On September 11, Consul General Wang Zhijian attended the finals of the 14th Panda Cup Chinese Language and Cultural Skills Contest for Primary and Secondary School Students in Southern Thailand and delivered a speech. Also present were Mayor of Hat Yai, Chairman of the Private Chinese School Co-networking of Southern Thailand, Chairman of the Songkhla Thai-Chinese Community Association, as well as over 1,400 students, teachers, and parents from all over Southern Thailand.

In his speech, Wang encouraged students to strengthen study and understanding of the Chinese language and culture. He noted that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of overseas Chinese language education and will continue to provide all possible assistance and support.

Finally, Wang declared the commencement of the finals of the 14th Panda Cup Chinese Language and Cultural Skills Competition for Primary and Secondary School Students in Southern Thailand, and wished all participants outstanding achievements and continuous progress in their studies.
