Consul General Wang Zhijian visited Trang Province

From September 23 to 24, Consul General Wang Zhijian visited Trang Province, where he met with former Thai Prime Minister and former President of the National Assembly Chuan Leekpai, as well as the Governor and the Chairperson of the Administrative Agency of the province. He also visited Chinese language schools, overseas Chinese organizations, and Chinese-funded enterprises, and attended the celebration of the National Day of China hosted by the local Chinese community.

Chuan Leekpai, Songkrot Sawangwong and others introduced to Wang the social conditions and public opinions in Trang Province and the status of cooperation and exchanges with China. They noted that the sentiment of "Thailand and China are feeling as close as one family" is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people here. They highlighted that Trang is rich in talent and natural resources with vast development prospects, and expressed the willingness to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Consulate General to actively explore new areas of collaboration.

Wang introduced the achievements of China’s development in the new era, laying emphasis on the recent commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-fascist War, as well as the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. He stated that the friendship between China and Thailand has a long history, and over the 50 years since the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations, both sides have continued to advance practical cooperation with cultural exchanges becoming increasingly vibrant. The Consulate General is willing to continue working together with friends from all walks of life in Trang Province to create a new chapter of friendship between our two countries.
